I would truly like to thank our clients, business partners and fellow designers.  It's a pleasure working with all of you and I appreciate your part in making ScaleUp Design Studio successful.

Being an entrepreneur myself, I know the hardships of starting, managing and scaling a business.  Based out
of Boston, I have been in the business, for over 10 years now, part-time, to full-time to ALL THE TIME.  It is a passion of mine to help others find their way to success by providing a professional, creative and understanding environment to help with fellow entrepreneur's branding needs.

Although it is a great 15 year career in the engineering field, making good money, I felt the overwhelming desire to make my own path.  The silver lining to that being that I was able to learn professionalism, time management and communication through my many years in corporate.

 

My mission now is to help passionate, business folks like myself make an impact with purposeful design. 

I am based out of Boston, MA and have over a decade of professional design and marketing experience.  Design is my passion, along with illustration, and I love connecting with others to help them ScaleUp!

Our unique brand discovery process helps our clients realign their business to their core values.  Each brand has its own personality, voice and look, it is our job to help put all those together so that they can connect with their dream customers.  Each design decision is made with your business and target audience in mind.

The ScaleUp
Process

Step 1: Save Your Spot
Book your spot in my design queue by first, signing the agreement and submitting a 50% non-refundable deposit.  We will then book a time for you to begin your project.


Step 2: Branding Questionnaire
​You will receive our in-depth brand questionnaire helping us dive deep into your brand’s message and target market, building your brand with your ideal client in of mind.  We’ll help guide you to understand the problem your customers are actually trying to solve, and then help illustrate your story in a way your customers can connect to.


Step 3: 1on1 Brand Strategy Session
We start by spending an hour together deep diving into your brand vision, values, ideal client and strategy. This session helps us get an understanding of you and your business on a deeper level. This helps us visualize the design process and to help create the perfect solution for your brand.


Step 4: Research

STEP 1. - START WITH A BRANDSHRINK™

To own your Badassery, first you have to identify it. Be it the goal of a project, or your reason for existence, knowing what you stand for and what you want will set you on the road to total domination in your industry.

STEP 2. - MAKE IT HAPPEN WITH A BRANDUP™

After our Brandshrink interview reveals what makes you different, we show you off with Badass Branding that gets you noticed, remembered, loved and shared. Our Brandup executes your entire brand, from developing the strategy & message through designing and building the website, and gets you out there selling immediately. (no joke)

ABOUT THE BRANDUP

Step 10: Brand Launch

After the remaining balance is paid in full, all final logo and collateral files will be delivered in neatly organized folders via Dropbox.  We'll transfer your website over to you, teach you how to edit and update your Wix site, and set your gorgeous and effective site to go live.

  • Q1. Does ScaleUp offer retainer services?
    Yes! We have The ScaleUp Retainer Program for repeat clients. If we haven't yet worked together, let's start by working on a branding package, website or other design materials first before considering the retainer program. We have to make sure a long-term contractual relationship is a good fit on both ends. If interested, please email us at james@scaleupdesign.com and we can chat.
  • Q2. Do you offer payment plans?
    Yes! But, only for our package services, not The ScaleUp Framework. We accept 50% is due to reserve your spot and the remaining balance is due at the end of the project. If you would prefer, you can do 50% to reserve your spot, 25% on project start date, and 25% at end of project.
  • Q3. I already have a logo and branding. Do you provide web design services only?
    Yes, we do but that gets complicated. We would love to view your current branding to see if it's a good fit and beneficial for both parties. We will chat and give you our advice and ideas on what we can do to help. If this interests you, Book A Call
  • Q4. Do you provide logo without branding and web design?
    Yes! Although we do not recommend breaking up the branding process, sometimes our clients tackle the the logo portion first so we offer a fundamentals package for that. If this interests you, click Book A Call. To view our packages, please click here.
  • Q5. Will my project be completed in the specified timeframe?
    As every project is different, we cannot guarantee a finished product in a set number of days or weeks. Completing your project within the estimated timeframe relies on you being available to communicate and review your designs as soon as they come to you. It's best to book your project during a timeframe when you know you have some free time to review and provide feedback.
  • Q6. Why use Wix?
    We love Wix! Wix websites are beautiful, user-friendly, and all-inclusive. They offer hosting, domains, and templates all under one roof, which makes your life a lot easier! Wix was designed with the do-it-yourself user in mind (that’s you!), making it incredibly easy for you to maintain and update your website on your own. They also offer awesome 24/7 customer support. All Wix templates are responsive and mobile-friendly. This is critical as over half of all web traffic is from mobile devices. Your content will look great on every device, every time. Every Wix website has built-in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), plus an automatically generated built-in sitemap that helps Google to crawl, understand, and rank your website. Wix is a self-contained platform that works seamlessly and is fully managed from top to bottom. This means there’s never any need to update software, plugins, or widgets; or patch security vulnerabilities. For you, that means less time worrying about technical stuff and more time to grow your business.
  • Q7. If Wix is so easy to use, why do I need a designer?
    While Wix is super simple and user-friendly, there is quite a bit of technical knowledge required if you want to customize your site so that it stands out from the crowd. We use custom coding to create a unique website for each client. Plus, we handle everything from set-up to launch, so that you can focus on what you love to do.
  • Q8. Are there any other costs?
    Yes. In order to have a Wix site, you'll have to invest in a monthly plan. You will also need a domain (if don't already have one). We recommend starting with the basic Business: Grow Your Brand plan at $32/mo. This plan will give you the best bang for your buck. We will walk you through this process before launching your website, nothing to worry about now. To view Wix pricing, please click here. * Note: Wix prices are subject to change.   • Q9. Will you provide photos for my website, or do I need to supply my own?
    If you would like help finding photos for your website, we can help you source stock images. Providing your own high-res photographs that are entirely custom to your brand would be beneficial, but, no necessary.
